Used 2x4 and 2x8 lumber with an Simpson Strong-Tie WBSK workbench kit. Top and bottom shelves are 3/4 CDX plywood. Used pocket holes on the two end 2x8 boards to attach them to the legs with more fasteners. Work surface is topped with plastic green board similar to cutting board for most of the bench. Very strong. Works great for dirty projects.
